The Absolute Zeros
Formed from an unlikely union of beach-town British singer/songwriter Kelvin Cochrane and North Philly percussionist extraordinaire, Sabu Rex. The combination of Cochrane’s soulful vocals and Rex’s unique style of percussion earned the duo enthusiastic audience reactions, motivating them to find the essential personnel for a full live band.
Enter Steve La Monica and Bill Rose, whom nonchalantly strolled in and managed to fill the all important shoes of bassist and drummer respectively. To add to an already strong core unit, lead guitarist Austin Madert was brought in to complete the lineup, adding layered melody lines and epic, Hendrix-inspired solos to the mix.
The Zeroesque
Zeroesque's music explores many different styles, a seeming faux pas in the sea of corporate-sponsored Johnny Pop-punks and teenie boppers that dominate the commercial music industry these days. The prog-rock and fusion styles are well represented on Multipick Technique, but there are also well-crafted forays into funk, latin and even smooth jazz. |
Playing Times:
8:30 - 11:45 a.m.
Boy Wonder
In the four short years since that first gig Boy Wonder has become one of Philadelphia's most promising and interesting young artists delivering a high energy blend of Pop Music that blends Funk, Rock, Soul, Blues, Hip-Hop and Jazz. Born Andre Coles in West Philadelphia in 1982 to Rev Vincent Coles and Pamela Coles, he began his musical life signing in the church choir at the age of three and was turned onto Rock and Roll at the age of six after hearing The Police's Roxanne.
Last Perfect Thing
It’s no secret these guys have been around for years, working hard to book their own tours and constantly expanding their fan base. Expect intense musical interaction from players with prodigious chops. Expect to be blown away by the live show. Expect the unexpected. |

The Mark Stinger Band
Although deeply rooted in the blues, The Mark Stringer Band draws its water from many genres of the American musical well. Blues, rock & roll, R&B, country, jazz, funk, fusion, and soul all mix to create a recipe that is finger lickin’ good.
Kiwi Band
Kiwi Band is about a magical vibe: an intangible, emotional response to music. Striving for pure expression, Kiwi Band's music evokes many styles, but is never stylized. Kiwi Band blends modern rock, alternative, and classic rock sounds to create what one critic appropriately calls "funky alterna-pop." Elements of ska, punk, techno, and even country music are all clearly evident in the music of Kiwi Band. |
Day 2
“Unplugged is not an option” is not just a motto for Day 2. It’s a way of life. Day 2 is a band of six guys with diverse musical backgrounds coming together to play a powerful palette of rock ‘n’ roll, with tunes ranging from 60’s hits by The Surfaris and the Stones to current chart-toppers by the likes of the Foo Fighters and 3 Days Grace.
Rivers Monroe
Rivers Monroe is a high energy rock pop quintet, inspired by the sounds of the 80's with a modern approach. Formed in 2000 by Mat Rivers and Mike Monroe, the band underwent multiple changes of members until they found Paul Ritorto, Matt Varga, and Kirby Chin. Each member bringing their own distinct set of influences to the table, Rivers Monroe became something different that can best be described by the music they
create. |
